Shane with the late Ryan Craighead, Mustang, Oklahoma's best hope to break into big time racing, Another casualty of the crotch rockets (motorcycles). Ryan had the talent, looks, brains and personality to go far. Sadly Ryan died from injuries suffered from a motorcyle/auto accident 1 month short of his 19th birthday, June 7th.

Carson.gif (101789 bytes) This is one of three cars which use to be numbered 7, 17 & 117 from Kansas owned by Norman Gumm.  The cars were hauled to the track on a huge flat bed trailer.  The cars were originally equipped with 6 cylinders with Holley Dominator carburetors sawed in half to meet the two barrel carb rule in the modified division of the NCRA. The drivers were Mike Peters, Gene See and Davie Moore.

"Kenny Wright from Tulsa bought the car in this photo, he changed the # to 80, and put a V8 motor in it. Steve Hunt drove it for a while and I took a few rides in it before goin on the road with Nance, should have been 75 or 76. That was the first super I ever drove....." Shane
